Hello Jen! I'm so, so happy each time you post a new video. I'm a social worker with two kids, ages 9 and 6. I have to take work trips to other states each week, and not only are they exhausting, but I also find myself feeling anxious and a bit disorganized. I want to be able to leave the house in order, but it seems I get overwhelmed with it all. Your videos help me realize that I'm not the only mom out there taking work trips and trying to balance home life. ❤❤❤

A few years back, I decided to make a copycat recipe every Sunday night after work and I made a Crunchwrap copy. It was excellent. Haven’t thought to make them again. I can see I might have to again, so good. I’ve also been trying to use up pantry stuff lately - I took 5 jars out and have been using one a night. I’ve got several different Trader Joe’s pasta sauces and their chimichurri from the refrigerator section. I’ve been cooking up meats of different kinds in the morning, prep them for later, Come home and heat them up and then open the jars and make a salad. Easy dinner after a 5-6 hour shift. Delicious.

Next time you have an urge to make chocolate chip cookies search David Leite’s Chocolate Chip Cookies - he tops them with coarse sea salt and OMG are they amazing. OR Jacques Torre’ chocolate chip cookies. Both excellent recipes. Both amazing cookies. The recipes on the back of the bags are good but those two are awesome!!!

I think I'd have been a better mom if I'd gone back to work ASAP after having mine. Not necessarily because I could have more money for them, but because it would've helped keep a more structural routine life.

Invasive ductal cancer found on my December screening mammogram, found out by an Email from the lab. finally having surgery in 2 weeks…have had a ridiculous time dealing with incompetent offices.

I bought the cookbook when they first came out, and it looks so pathetic from the turned down pages, and the stuff I have either spilled or dripped on the pages of my go-to recipes. Everybody needs a copy.

Thank your for sharing this. I know how scary this can be. I'm currently going through something similar with possible cervical cancer. Praying for you.

I live in Denmark and honestly I have no idea of how you are doing kids and careers as mothers in the US. I’m 32 weeks pregnant with my first child becoming a solo mum by choice. I get paid maternity leave from 4 weeks before my due date and by law until 24 weeks after the birth. The company I’m working for have additional paid leave adding up to 37 weeks paid leave after the birth and even after those weeks I have the option to stay home for up to 52 weeks with an allowance from the government.

Amen. I’ve been a sahm for the last 7 months (after my 4th was born and we moved) after being a working mom for the last 8 years since becoming a mom, and trying to get a particular type of sahm to understand that women who work are homemakers too is crazy. I have rarely heard a working mom bash on sahm’s, but man do sahm’s have strong words about working moms. It’s sad, we all need each other

Honestly it’s astounding how pro life some of these people are… really. The cognitive dissonance is insane. Have babies but it’s on you to figure out how to care, feed, house them and be able to work.

Eff them. Life is too short to worry about every single calorie. I am fat. I get overlooked, it is assumed I am lazy and stupid, I see people's smiles melt when they see me. Eff them. Everyone has addictions. I just wear mine as a buffer for my body from life.

My kids are grown now, but I guess things are about the same for women when I was raising my kids. And women seem to be the most critical of working moms.

Can confirm that potatoes do sometimes explode if you bake them without poking holes first. Specifically if you bake them, then open the oven and poke with a fork to see if they are finished cooking. Little bits of potato everywhere.

I use Phoebe Buffet's grandma's chocolate chip cookie recipe. Nestle Tollhouse. :) It is a classic for a reason. I always make them in bars/pan cookie version.

I have a much bigger potato ricer and it’s still to much work to make sense for me:)
